Aude Berger

Since childhood, Aude has been interested in the conservation of sea turtle populations, inspired by her encounters with these species in the wild and her involvement with several sea turtle conservation associations in Guadeloupe.

She holds a Higher Technical Diploma in Marine Studies (DTSM), specialising in marine environmental engineering, complemented by a professional bachelor’s degree in environmental protection.

Her professional career is characterised by extensive expertise in managing large-scale environmental programmes. After coordinating UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere (MAB) programme for the Guadeloupe Biosphere Reserve within the Guadeloupe National Park, she implemented numerous environmental awareness and education programmes at the Ecole de la Mer Association. She subsequently founded and managed her own consultancy, ABC Mer, where she undertook project management, data collection, and education for sustainable development.

She currently works as a Scientific Project Manager at the Saint Martin Nature Reserve Management Association. There, she led a European LIFE Biodiv’OM programme. Over five years, she coordinated collaborative conservation actions aimed at restoring populations of Atlantic goliath grouper and Nassau grouper, while also developing a dynamic citizen science network.

In parallel, she coordinates the local implementation in Saint Martin of the French National Action Plan (PNA) for sea turtles in the French West Indies. She oversees the scientific monitoring of nesting and foraging sites, supports networks of local decision-makers, and supervises teams of environmental volunteers.
