Eric Delcroix

Deputy Treasurer

Guadeloupe

Éric Delcroix, a founding member and Deputy Treasurer of the TOTM association, has been involved in the study and conservation of sea turtles for over 20 years. He first encountered sea turtles in 2001 in Guadeloupe during an eco-volunteering experience. Still in Guadeloupe, he went on to study sea turtles during his two master’s internships, focusing in particular on interactions with fisheries and threats to nesting sites.

For 10 years, he coordinated the sea turtle programme in Guadeloupe, first within the association Kap’Natirel and later at ONCFS, where he facilitated and led a broad network of stakeholders to implement conservation actions. He then spent 7 years as a scientific officer for the Petite Terre and La Désirade Nature Reserves, continuing his sea turtle research while also developing other thematic areas, including ornithology and herpetology.

In 2021, he became an environmental inspector at the French Office for Biodiversity (OFB). In this role, he notably conducts investigations into damage to nesting sites and provides scientific expertise to the judicial system, supporting legal proceedings and the restoration of impacted sites.
