Marine biologist, François-Elie has 10 years of experience in marine environment management and conservation. After working in research centres and environmental consulting firms, he moved to Mayotte in 2016, where he joined the team of the Mayotte Marine Natural Park, working on water quality and natural heritage issues.
In 2018, he joined the association Oulanga na Nyamba to coordinate the National Action Plan for sea turtles, and contributed to the design of the Kaz’a Nyamba project, a sea turtle rescue and discovery centre.
He now serves as Head of the Knowledge Division of the association, where he develops its scientific programmes, and is officially certified (Capacitaire) for the care and husbandry of sea turtle species. François-Elie is also involved in several advisory and governance bodies, including the Management Council of the Mayotte Marine Natural Park, the Ethics Committee of La Réunion, and the Scientific Council for Natural Heritage of Mayotte.
