Mathilde Lasfargue

Mathilde is an agricultural engineer specialising in natural habitat management. She first became involved in sea turtle conservation during a volunteer placement in the Seychelles in 2016, where she helped monitor nesting activity.

From 2020 to 2024, she coordinated the French National Action Plan (PNA) for sea turtles in French Guiana at the French Biodiversity Agency (OFB). During this time, she also coordinated the French Guiana Sea Turtle Network, served as the local representative for the Wider Caribbean Sea Turtle Conservation Network (WIDECAST), and co-led the Action Plans working group within the French Sea Turtle Group (GTMF).

Now back in mainland France, Mathilde is the curator of a National Nature Reserve in the Vosges. She remains actively involved in sea turtle conservation, notably through the TOTM association and the Marine Turtle Specialist Group (MTSG) of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
