Mayeul Dalleau
Board Member
Mayeul Dalleau holds a PhD in Marine Biology and specializes in the migration of marine turtles. Originally from Réunion Island, he has studied turtle populations in the south-west Indian Ocean for over 10 years. He has led numerous research and conservation projects, including regional cooperation initiatives, at the Centre for the Study and Discovery of Marine Turtles (CEDTM). His work, for example, revealed that the majority of loggerhead turtles frequenting the oceanic waters of Réunion are born on, and return to nest on, Masirah Island in Oman.
He has also lived in New Caledonia and French Polynesia and is passionate about shared challenges in overseas territories. A member of the TOTM board and Deputy Treasurer, he is actively involved in the working group on indicators and minimum standards. Mayeul is now based in Montpellier, where he works as an international consultant for an environmental consultancy.
