Guadeloupe

Nicolas graduated as an engineer from AgroParisTech in 2014 after completing a year-long internship at the Olympic (Washington) and Everglades (Florida) National Parks in the United States. He began his career at an ecological consultancy in Réunion Island, where he served as project manager for over three years. He then moved to French Guiana to work with the National Hunting and Wildlife Office (formerly ONCFS, now French Biodiversity Agency – OFB), initially studying large forest fauna before becoming coordinator of the National Action Plan (PNA) for marine turtles for two years.

In 2020, after a brief period at CAR-SPAW, he took on similar roles in the French Caribbean, overseeing the interregional coordination of PNAs for the recovery of the Lesser Antillean Iguana and for marine turtles on behalf of the National Forestry Office (ONF). In this capacity, he also contributed as facilitator of the working group on action plans within the French Marine Turtle Group (GTMF) and helped establish the Trans-Oceans Marine Turtles Association (TOTM), becoming a board member in 2019 and co-chair of the Strategy and Actions Committee in 2020.

In 2018, he became the territorial coordinator for the Caribbean WIDECAST network on marine turtles, initially representing French Guiana and later Guadeloupe and Martinique from 2020. In 2022, he joined the Marine Turtle Specialist Group (MTSG) within the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Nicolas joined TOTM’s staff in August 2025 as Guadeloupe Territorial Coordinator of the PNATMAF.
